Our Values

We believe Jesus served us by giving His life for us and now wants all of us to be a part of His culture of discipleship. That is, He wants us to help one another trust & follow Him (Matthew 28:18-20). The following core values help us develop that culture of discipleship.

WORSHIP | RELATIONSHIP | TRUTH | TRANSFORMATION

Abstract Paint

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – (Jesus) Mark 10:45 (ESV)

WORSHIP

We value

WHO JESUS IS

Jesus is how God shows us what He is like and how we can be in relationship with Him. Therefore, our gatherings provide opportunities to worship Him in service and song believing He is worthy of our whole lives.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." Romans 12:1 (ESV)

RELATIONSHIP

We value

HOW JESUS LOVES

Jesus knows He is loved by God and loves God supremely. Jesus spent time with people and loved them perfectly. Jesus loves people who trust Him and those who do not yet recognise who He is. Jesus calls us to love one another just like He loved us. Therefore we prioritise time together to grow in real relationships with one another. This happens through intentional time in the middle of our service, our monthly Bring & Share meal and small group gatherings.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 (ESV)

TRUTH

We value

WHAT JESUS SAYS

Jesus treated the Old Testament Scriptures as God’s Holy Word and taught as one speaking God’s Holy Word. He taught His disciples to share His Word in the same thoughtful and authoritative manner. Therefore, we teach the Scriptures, chapter by chapter, through whole books of the Bible seeking to understand what is written and how it applies to our lives.

“They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.” - Jesus’ prayer in John 17:16-19 (NLT)

TRANSFORMATION

We value

WHY JESUS SAVES

Jesus saves us from our sins: the bad we do and the good we neglect to do. This means that He took the judgement we deserve on the cross so we could be forgiven, but also, it means we can be changed! By His Holy Spirit, He gives us a new heart with new desires so we can learn to enjoy God’s love the way He does. This leads us to say no to sinful habits and addictions and yes to His love and power.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
